AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS 

The Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) came in to effect from 1st October 2011 and is a key piece of legislation for UK employers. The AWR extends certain (although not total) equal treatment rights to temporary workers with regard to pay, holiday rights and working conditions once they have completed a 12 week client qualifying period. For many users of temporary staff the AWR have had a minimal effect due to their seasonal or sporadic usage or the existing levels of pay in place. However this is not always the case and it remains essential to work with a trusted recruitment partner who can assist in assessing and monitoring the AWR’s impact.
